The Joule Dallas: A gay ‘ole time!

This past thursday was the pre gay pride party at the Joule Hotel in Downtown Dallas. Every social gay man in Dallas and their girlfriends joined celebrity guest DJ Drew Ginsburg, of Bravo’s Most Eligible Dallas, for a night of well-mannered (Well, not really) frivolity around the pool! The pool area was illuminated and looked amazing. Flagstone steps led to a shallow pool that looked as if it ran over the side of the building, not unlike the Palms in Las Vegas. Drew Ginsburg played every kind of music you could imagine and the atmosphere was wonderful! The bar was flowing with Grey Goose and a portion of the proceeds went to The Legacy Counseling Center! Since it was a good cause I decided to go ahead and drink up! (As if I need an excuse!) To the side along the edge of the balcony were private cabanas for lounging and chatting at a more intimate level. The chaise cushions and throw pillows were a warm tan and cerulean blue which was perfect for the setting! In attendance were some of Dallas’ most social people including myself and my dear friends Tara Harper of Most Eligible Dallas, Paws in the City oficionado Pamela Chao, Michelle Lamont of Lamont Media, Raya Ramsey of D Magazine and a million other fabulous people! The night was seemless and we partied our butts off to the great beats! It wouldn’t be Dallas night life without some sort of drama or running into ten people you know and both of those things happened! I look forward to the next big event because, let’s be honest, it’ll always be a show with our group! The party didn’t stop there! We jetted to Round Up on Cedar Springs for a little Texas throw down! The gays were giddy with delight as Tara stepped into the room! We quickly crammed ourselves into a photobooth and took the most amazingly ridiculous photos ever! Under my pearl snaps (Yes, I had pearl snaps but it was Kenneth Cole!) I wore my Bling shirt from blingisthenewblack.com made by my dear friend Caitlin McConnel! It said “Most Eligible Stud” and Tara just HAD to rip it open! As if i’m upset by that? Never! Everyone loved it an it was a lovely evening!

Two paws way up for Tara Harper! My interview.

This past week I had the great honor of attending one of the many Paws in the City benefits with the lovely Tara Harper. You may know Tara as the blonde bombshell that heads the ever growing charity in the Dallas area. Saving dogs and cats from a fate that they wouldn’t otherwise overcome. She is also a cast member on the hit Bravo show, Most Eligible Dallas. Over the past few weeks I have gotten to know Tara for the wonderful person and animal lover she is. I can even call her a friend. A friend that I am proud to have. At the location, Mama Pitas, we had a chance to sit down and just do what we do best: Gab!

Ryan Hanauer: “So Tara!…”
Tara Harper: “Hello Ryan!” *seductively!*

RH: “We’re sitting here and I have to ask; How does it feel to be on the cover of City and Country Pets?”
TH: “I am so honored because that magazine is absolutely everywhere and everybody in rescue reads it and anybody who has anything to do with pets reads it all the time so it was a HUGE honor to be on the cover! Plus, I get to showcase Paws in the City so it’s a no brainer!”

RH: “Of course! Speaking of Paws in the City, has it just BLOWN up since you’ve been on the show or…?”
TH: “It’s been AMAZING! We’ve gotten so many people wanting to volunteer, so many people wanting to help…I’ve gotten people from Michigan e-mailing me saying they were going to go buy a dog but instead they went and adopted one! I find that amazing and the whole reason I did the show!”

RH: “How have you dealt with the negativity and negative things that people say because, let’s be honest, it comes with the territory.”
TH: “I mean, some of the negative things people say are few and far between compared to the positive! If people want to be ugly then we can all just be monday night quarterbacks and insult anybody we want but at the same time, ya know, I’m getting a lot of positive feedback about rescue so if they want to waste their time insulting me, go for it!”

RH: “Save a dog don’t insult someone!”
TH: “Yeah, don’t be mean!”
RH: “Yeah!!!”

RH: “What have you learned about make-up, hair and photography since you’ve been doing all this sort of public appearance and interview stuff?”
TH: “What I have learned through this whole process is that different artists can make you look completely different so you have to go with someone you know will make you look good. I did most of my own make-up but at different points someone else did it and i was like, Yeah, I don’t like tha. It was definitely a learning curve.”

I love your make-up, darling! Now to my silly questions…

RH: “What did you think about Courtney’s FLOWING dress that she wore to meet Neil?”
TH: “I think that Courtney was about to go on a private plane to Cabo and attend a wedding! That’s what it would have been perfect for if I was wearing it but she looked gorgeous! Plus, I’d rather overdo it than underdo it anyday!”

RH: “She said her necklace weighed five pounds!”
TH: “Oh it looked REALLY heavy but you know beauty is pain!”
RH: “Oh I know, we had a conversation about threading and she said it wasn’t painless but beauty is pain and I was like , Honey I know I’ve been wearing the same pair of spanx for three months!”
*Laughter rang out from us and the people around us when I said that*
TH: “Love it!”

RH: “So my last question for you is, How do you feel about me going as Glenn for Halloween?”
TH: *Eyes buldging* “I thought you were going as me! I’m so insulted!”
RH: “No, Brett is going as you!!!
TH: “Well I think Glenn would be so flattered! Totally!
RH: “I think so too!”

Maybe I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure Courtney and I lived in the same building! The Wilson! Am I wrong? I may be!
I hate the tension between Neill and Courtney because they’re such good people. Courtney is trying and that speaks volumes! Right?
These girls in Matt’s life?! Playa playa! He’s so upfront you can’t blame him that’s his style!
Major?! Amazing!!! Such a cute little guy! Neill is such an amazing mom! I mean let’s be honest…Courtney is trying. She trys so hard and sometimes her words don’t come across right. I’m the SAME way! Courtney’s Winifred Sanderson dress?! Aaammaazziinnngg blowing in the wind!! Can you picture her singing “come little children ill take thee away!” Hahahah! Love you, C!
This “ask me about my package” shirts?! Ill definitely ask!
Tara?! My best friend for life? I can’t even begin to describe the dinner we had last night! Lord…
Tara’s Paws in the City event went amazing and Trooper got a lot of attention and money for his injurys!

This episode I loved and these people are great! Next week is Fashion Night Out and Tara and Drew are hosting a party at Tootsie’s! Ill be there with bells on! …literally…Versace bells.

Big Rich sneak attack…

Can we talk about how much I love Bonnie and Leslie?! They’re like the dynamic duo of fabulous…everything! They are so funny together i’m jealous! No one can deny that AJ is hot…let’s be honest. I’m sure Pam will find something wrong with him. He’s probably too nice. Sorry…I had to go chase my skin down because it crawled away when Pam laughed. Ugh! I mean…rules are rules but the chemistry is there!
I can understand where Whitney would be annoyed but Bon is so fun! Trust! You should read some of the stuff she says to me! But, i’ll never tell . That picnic place they stopped on the walk is so much fun! The Ice House is the place you can get reasonably priced drinks and have a great time! In fact, i’ll tell you a story. My friend Brett (@brettmathewb) had a few too many and fell backwards off of a picnic bench. Can you say Louboutins in the air? Red bottoms were sky high that day!
I’m seriously and thoroughly disgusted with Pam more than ever! I had SO freaking disgusted! Grilling someone about how much money they have?! A room full of fake money asking her inappropriate questions shows exactly who they are. There is an interview with Leslie where she proves, in about a minute, that she has millions in cash and assets. Hmmm. I think they was the same interview where we were told that Pam asked Leslie if she held her husbands head under water. If you didn’t know, Leslie’s husband tragically drowned two years ago. What a terrible and absolutely disgusting thing to say. I have zero respect for you Pam and you can shit talk me all you want because honey your true colors are showing now. Good luck.
P.S. Maddie is a strong young woman you dont have to worry about her Melissa
The BBQ again was just an attack on Leslie. Is this pick of Leslie episode? So Leslie commented on how great Connie’s ex looked…because he DID! They’re not related…who cares? Everyone is just so uptight.

Most Eligible Dallas…round two!

Finally another episode! A week felt like a month! I’ll just get right into this. I’m glad Tara and Courtney decided to take Neill out as “just the girls” because even in a group as close as this one, too many people causes clouding and the expression of an opinion can lead to flared tempers!
But, i’ll continue with this later.
I bet Patti Stanger is rolling over in her grave about Drew seeing another matchmaker! Especially one who looks like a Sanderson sister! All joking aside, she did seem to know what she’s talking about. It’s not anyone fault Drew was set up with an endangered species known as Seth Green. LMAO.
If you read Tara’s blog on bravotv.com you’ll see her bring up one important word. Awkward. Her date to the bowling alley was beyond hyserical and cute but I do understand how she feels about the germs. I had to cover my face with my hand when he backed into the other car because if I was him I would have been so imcredibly embarrassed! Sorry bout’cha!
I can understand Matt’s frustration with Courtney but I also understand where Courtney is coming from. Although I don’t agree with some of the things Courtney is saying, it’s not right for me to judge her. She obviously has the biggest heart there is and its just unfortunate circumstance. I also hate to go into this but it needs to be addressed. Courtney does not have a drinking problem. So she drank in both episodes? Yes. But, these episodes didn’t happen back to back. They were filmed days apart! So she slurred? I’m slurring right now! I love to drink! But it’s not affecting my life and it’s not affecting hers either!
I’ve been in a similar situation that Matt’s in and you just gotta work through it. and I have a feeling they do!
Glenn is such a good person and has just the best personality. The Drew/Glenn relationship is awesome and I like to see that because it breaks barriers. I have so many more straight men as friends than I do gay men and it’s just nice to see.
With all of the negative things on television right now, it’s nice to see a friendly group. While the group may have its bumps and a teeny bit of drama, at least it’s not hate. In the end they’ll work it all out! and if they don’t…it’s not the end.

Most Eligible Dallas!

The Big D! There’s no place like it! Its my favorite place in the world!
We enter the lives of six single friends enjoying their lives and each others company. I have to say…this show does catch a side of Dallas that I love. While everyone has their opinions and views on the show and how our city is represented…you can’t sum up a city with six people! This group is perfect for the show! Everyone is so different…yet we are all the same! Myself included.
Let me start off by saying I love Tara and Courtney because I’m convinced they’re my new bffs haha! I have to be honest…as much as people are talking about the show negatively, there are that many more people who love it. The people who don’t like it seem to be the ones who are afraid to admit its true. Stop faking! You love it and you know it. …its true the everywhere you go in Dallas there is SOMEONE who knows you, who YOU know, who you’ve dated, hated or loved. Story of my life.
Tara is HUGE into Paws in the city and it is a wonderful charity. Let me tell you…just chatting with her on the phone was more fun that a night out and the passion in her voice for it is inspiring. I completely plan on volunteering with her and if you’d like to as well please join in! Check it out at pawsinthecity.org!

Courtney has got to be the funniest member on the cast and she reminds me a lot of myself! She’s super sarcastic and her relationship with Matt may be flirty but if that works for them then who hell cares? I shared a bed in NYC with my bff for six months and we sick each other out! Hahaha!

Glenn is your typical sports guy that we all went to HS with. He is here for a good time and no one can stop him! He works just like anyone and has made a good life for himself. He obviously keeps it real because look at that awesome car! Hahaha. He is thug’n and bug’n!
Ps…how funny was Tara and Drew when out to lunch and those total junky guidos hit on her? “Guido Von Duccis” lmao! I think Drew and Tara are such good friends because they’re both quirky and we like that. He doesn’t seem to be your “typical” gay but I really don’t know what that means. I like cars but couldn’t tell you shit about them. I mean…I guess we all have our strong points. His roommate Niall (who hasn’t been introduced yet) is a trip and he says the funniest things and him and Drew fight like brothers! And I’ve only seen it on twitter so I can’t fathom what it must be like in real life! I wonder if they play the “lying game” like Brett and I do. Brett couldn’t make it home this weekend because he got caught shoplifting at Pinto Ranch in Northpark. (See that’s how that works…little digs that aren’t true but we die laughing over them).
Anyway…THAT was a tangent!
Matt is a guy. What are you gonna do? I think he has a good heart and he’s upfront about what he wants! Can’t penalize someone for that!
I’m excited to see more of Niell because she seems really fun! I can understand how it is to be the new person in a solid group..its nerve racking! I also know what its like to be on the inside looking out. Its “threatening” in a way because you don’t know this person. All we can do is be open! Plus, Niell’s shoes are fierce and just because you have a baby doesn’t mean life stops. This isn’t Teen Mom 2.
The show sort of has a stigma with it and I think its because it takes place in Dallas. Big D has a “rep” for being fake and I’ve seen why, but when you know the right people it really isn’t. Its a blast! I look forward to the rest of the season!
I insist you come visit. Ill take you out! *wink*

Posche and me

Last night was the 2nd episode of The Real Housewives of NJ and there was no shortage on drama. Although there wasn’t “camera takes a tumble” drama, meaning no punches were thrown, there was emotional drama and trust me the room was charged. Immediately when you walked in there was sort of a crazy feeling. Posche really did an amazing job and the Brownstone was in amazing shape the the service was impecable! The first people I ran into were Aline and Kim D who came out to greet Matt Martin and I! Kim led us into the dining hall where she gave us a quick interview and talked to us. She showed us where we were sitting and we hugged and kissed and went to find our seats. Kim G had invited us and Matt and I brought along our ‘ole ball ‘n chains! His friend Kelly and my friend Brett! The first thing I noticed when I came upstairs was the door to the right of the staircase was covered in red paper. Obviously, for the changing room. Let me backtrack. When we pulled up, I saw Teresa and Jacqueline getting out of their car to go inside. These women…are SO TINY!! They look much bigger on camera! As we signed in, I was greeted by Caroline who look amazing! So hospitible! Before we got there, I called Kim G to chat and she said “get your boxing gloves on!”. I didn’t know then, but they deff. were gonna come out. Not for me, but for these women! The show went off without a hitch and was great! Now…it was interesting to hear when Teresa, Jac and Caroline were saying because I was sitting next to Kim G and within earshot of Melissa and Kathy. I could hear there side of the convo, but I never knew what else was going on! I hope everyone spotted me on last night episode with the white fur I was wearing! After the ladies walked and we ate, I walked out to use the restroom which was across the hall from the changing room where the notorious scene went down. I could hear the chatter inside and heard yelling, but I couldnt understand at the time what was being said! Also, there was a man, who I presumed to be a producer outside of the door…so I couldn’t press my ear against it like I wanted to! Now, they served us wine and I had about 3 bottles to myself. So, needless to say I was having a good time! THe girl sitting next to me, who became a good friend of mine, was feeling no pain either! Rosa…I love you! The fur I had on was from Monica who was sitting on the OTHER side of Rosa. What a sweet heart! I’m pretty sure that was the only way people could tell who I was on the show last night! That and…my antics! All in all it was a fantastic show and I got some good pics and also some good shots on camera last night! It’ such a weird thing to see when you started like me and Matt started. Look how far we’ve come! See you at this years show! Kim D, I love you! You make me laugh with everything you say! I’ll post pics soon!

P.S. Matt and my entourage tried to round me up at the end because i walked the runway and kept slipping away! I’m sure Kim new how fargone I was and she loved every minute of it! I’m pretty sure Al Manzo even asked “You ok?” by the end of the night. I’m not kidding when I say “No one parties like they do in Jersey!” See my “A night with the men of Real Housewives of NJ!”

A Bethenny Breakdown

I…don’t even.
What just happend? OK so I haven’t kept up with blogging lately..but that is about to be fixed. Who just watched the most recent episode of Bethenny Ever After? OK, first things first. I love her. Hands down. I love everything about her. But WHAT was THAT?! Listen. I like Bethenny and Jason and Shawn and Gina and Julie and everyone so I dont want to be disrespectful. But, I don’t even know. I guess I am just shocked! Who even knew that attention could bring on such powerful emotions! Especially from a person who is in the spotlight so much! I just…*jaw dropping*. Maybe it’s because I am such a people person or something but I would have been ecstatic to have that awesome party! I know, B, that you’ve had a hard life and I really do love you and can’t imagine what you’ve gone through…so who’s business is it? But, you do choose to put your life on camera and these things happen. Maybe a break from the cameras is what you need?
I’m sure you felt awkward and then you felt even more awkward once people noticed you were being that way it kind of snowballed but ggeeeeeezzzz. I have some serious feelings about this! Can I just be honest and say…it was a little..selfish? There I said it.
Oops.
and I miss Max.
Done.

Now…this Pregnant in Heels? I can’t….
